Masak Masak

We had dinner at Masak Masak. Everything we had was delicious. We were genuinely blown away by how much we enjoyed every dish! We had the whipped tofu, sarawak laksa, hakka rice (tastes just like it does in singapore) and chips. We also had the coconut pandan latte (it was so fragrant and tasted exactly like a pandan chiffon cake) and the chrysanthemum passion fruit spritz. We have some allergies and dietary requirements and we were so well looked after. If you want to be amazed by yummy authentic food and genuine welcoming staff, you can’t miss visiting Masak Masak.

A few places where you can get great Malaysian food and great coffee at the same time! Second time to this place and won’t be my last! The Singaporean chilli crab with egg and tiger buns was creamy, tasty and has enough crab to satisfy. The Sarawak laksa is fragrant and meets my mother’s strict tastebuds! The only downside is they don’t do takeaways of the laksa! :)

24/9/25 I want to begin by thanking the most gracious of hosts — Deb and Julien, the wonderful owners of Masak Masak for hosting our Footscray Friends and Dining evening. They opened their doors and hearts for us and made our group feel incredibly welcome from the moment we walked in. A heartfelt thank you also to the amazing staff who worked tirelessly. Your hospitality and professionalism helped made it a night to remember. Each table shared seven stunning courses — each dish unique in its own right, yet perfectly complementing the next. The menu Julien and Deb crafted was extraordinary, and something I’ll remember for a long time. I’m lucky to live quite close to Masak Masak and often visit for breakfast. Their menu is distinct (in the best way), and their team is among the finest I’ve encountered in hospitality. I genuinely encourage you to try them out sometime. If you're after a recommendation — don’t skip the Blue Swimmer Crab Baked Eggs. Trust me. Thank you again to everyone who joined us tonight.

The food bursts with flavour ,ingredients are fresh, and the balance of spices is just perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, making it just as good for a casual catch-up as it is for a special night out. The staff are warm, welcoming. You can tell they really care about the food and the people they serve. If you’re looking for a place that’s full of heart, flavour, and that “just one more bite” feeling ,Masak is it.

Been here a handful of times and keep coming back. This is absolutely my favourite local!! They’ve really stepped up their game with Thursday and Friday dinner service - it gives refined wine bar food x delicious Singaporean punchy flavour. I’ve tried most of the menu and you can’t go wrong. Shoutout to the laksa (esp. katong version), tiger prawns, rotating brunch specials, peanut turtle cakes and really good coffee!!

We tried the Friday night dinner service and it was amazing! Every meal was carefully explained to us and the food was delicious. Prawn toast, laksa, beef short rib redang - everything! We also really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and felt very accommodated. 10/10 recommend.

This place is an absolute gem! I had the pork belly roll and a side of laksa broth with tofu puffs, both full of flavour and yummy. The space feels relaxed, and the service is excellent. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!

Been here twice now and thank goodness I don't live closer or I'd be here constantly! The Sarawak Laksa is a banger, although honestly anything coming out of those kitchens looks and smells amazing so you can't go wrong. We also had the chill crab eggs, HK tea toast and kuih too. Yum yum yum. They serve great coffee too, be sure to try the kopi with condensed milk if you love a sweet, strong hit. Service is also always with a smile
